At the April 16, 2026 BPAC meeting, Patrick Phelan, Transportation Planner in OakDOT’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Program Team, will provide an overview of concepts to improve walking and biking connectivity in the Jingletown area, along with a review of Measure DD work and remaining bay trail gaps. The project’s MTC Complete Streets Checklist will also be presented for BPAC review.
An excerpt is below, followed by the full presentation.

- Easier bay trail projects are complete, only hard ones remain.
- On-street routes will always be useful or necessary.
- Redundancy is okay!
- Kennedy St project goals:
- Provide an on-street route to close waterfront gap.
- Improve connection between Alameda and Oakland.
