| 5 | 6:40 | Fire Code Approval Cycle and OFD/OakDOT Collaboration (25 minutes) The Committee will discuss the 2025 Fire Code approval cycle, a process which occurs once every three years. California will release the state Fire Code on July 1, 2025. Oakland will amend the State Fire Code to adopt the Oakland Fire Code by the end of 2025. OakDOT and OFD will provide an update on collaboration between the two departments since the last update to BPAC in July 2023. The Committee is interested in Section 503 and Appendix D on “Fire Apparatus Access Roads” and the relationship between the Oakland Fire Code and the California Fire Code. The Committee is also interested in fire apparatus purchasing decisions and how street space can be used flexibly for traffic safety and emergency response. | ||
