At the November 6, 2025 BPAC Infrastructure Committee meeting, Alameda County Transportation Commission staff will provide a presentation and update on the San Pablo Ave Parallel Bike Improvements Project in North Oakland, and the Bus Lanes and Bike Lanes Project from Downtown Oakland to the Berkeley border.

At the June 20, 2024 BPAC meeting, Aleida Andrino-Chavez and Colin Dentel-Post, from the Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) will present on the San Pablo Avenue Bus and Bike Lanes Project. The Project would create dedicated bus lanes, new curb-protected bike lanes, and safer street crossings for people walking and biking along San Pablo Avenue between Heinz Avenue in South Berkeley and Downtown Oakland. Alameda CTC is currently conducting public outreach to gather feedback on the proposed project and your feedback is highly appreciated.
The Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) is working in collaboration with the City of Oakland on the development of a program of San Pablo Avenue corridor projects. At the November 2, 2023 BPAC Infrastructure Committee meeting, Matt Bomberg, Senior Transportation Engineer and Colin Dentel-Post, Principal Transportation Planner presented the San Pablo Avenue Parallel Bike Improvements Project which includes neighborhood bikeway treatments along local streets parallel to San Pablo Avenue in North Oakland, Berkeley, and Albany.

At the March 17, 2022 BPAC meeting, Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC or Alameda CTC) planner Colin Dentel-Post presented on the San Pablo Avenue Corridor Project. The project has completed a long-term visioning phase and has now embarked on a near-term implementation phase aiming to improve safety, transit efficiency, and placemaking along the corridor within 3-5 years.
The proposed project concept in Oakland, Emeryville, and South Berkeley includes pedestrian safety enhancements, conversion of one traffic lane in each direction to a dedicated bus lane, and conversion of each curbside parking lane to a protected bike lane. The project concept will go to the Oakland Public Works Committee and City Council later this spring for action.
