Progress Report: 5YP Year 1 to Date
At just five paved miles completed with less than six months remaining in the fiscal year, OakDOT will not meet its annual mileage goal of 55 miles.
Completed design mileage reflects work that is ready for construction. Completed design miles are also not on track for this six-month period, given that the annual target is 55 miles and completed design mileage is just under 30 miles.
Below are streets currently scheduled to be paved during December 2020 – February 2021 as part of the 2019 3-Year Paving Plan. This list is copied from the City of Oakland’s Upcoming Paving page, last updated Dec. 15, 2020. Links to more information on the 2019 3-Year Paving Plan are also copied below.
Concept is 2 to 1 road diet with a buffered bike lane and high visibility crosswalks.
Project will be delivered with paving this fall.
Previous concept had a left side bike lane to avoid conflicts with bus stops—The new version has a right side bikeway instead, to avoid transition points at each end of the project.
Designs to be finalized within 2 months. Committee members asked for plans to be shared at that time.
